🎁 Expected Outcome by the EU
- 🦾 Transform industrial jobs via AI-based human-machine interactions that enhance “flexibility, inclusion, well-being, up-skilling, career evolution and knowledge sharing”.
- 📈 Boost manufacturing competitiveness and sustainability through “knowledge formalization” and the adaptability of machinery across diverse workforce markets and different cultures.
🏗️ Scope Summary
The proposals must produce dedicated innovative AI approaches for human-machine collaboration in advanced manufacturing, applied in at least two of the following fields:
- 🎓 Human-AI Co-Learning: Capturing expert knowledge and formalizing “dispersed and not explicit” know-how to reduce onboarding times and facilitate continuous “workforce up-skilling”.
- 🤝 Human-AI Teamwork: Deploying innovative “natural interaction models” and hardware interfaces to control complexity in cognitive cooperating production systems, including planning at the shop-floor level.
- 🌍 Adaptive Automation Interfaces: Automatically tailoring machine interactions to the “different abilities” and “different cultural needs” of the human workforce to ease technology export.
⚖️ Inclusive & Ethical Design: Integrate a gender perspective, eliminate algorithmic bias, improve physical/cognitive ergonomics, and adhere to ethical principles represented in Digital Humanism with strong contributions from Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH).
🔗 Strategic Alignment Mandates: Proposals must align with the Applied AI Strategy, build upon past projects in Extended Reality Technologies (XR) (e.g., HORIZON-CL4-2021-HUMAN-01-13 / 14 / 25 / 06 / 28), and implement the co-programmed European Partnerships Made in Europe and AI, Data and Robotics.
🛣️ Strategic Alignment
This Research and Innovation Action (RIA) focuses on foundational and applied breakthroughs (starting at TRL 4-5) to achieve operational validation in manufacturing environments (achieving TRL 6).
The socio-technical mandate directly addresses the twin transition by integrating human-centric AI design inside shifting global supply lines, preventing systemic knowledge loss during generational workforce transitions.
We provide the underlying governance, RegTech capabilities, and architectural frameworks necessary to anchor an AI Environmental/Reputation Governance Harness.
This software platform layer (bridging RegTech and FinTech) provides the compliance instrumentation to audit human-machine systems, tracking ergonomic safety data, socio-technical value distribution, and cross-border regulatory alignments without creating data fragmentation.
🤝 SCVCS’ Core Areas of Collaboration
We are utilizing our research frameworks to establish structural bridges with partners targeting the following call mandates:
🔏 Knowledge Capture & Data Sovereignty: Creating structured data repositories to capture expert operational knowledge. We apply the International Data Spaces architecture alongside the IEEE International Roadmap for Devices and Systems (IRDS) Environment, Safety, Health, and Sustainability (ESHS) roadmaps to ensure factory-floor training data respects worker privacy and localized data protection mandates.
🌊 Socio-Economic Well-being Metrics: Formulating frameworks to systematically monitor the “human well-being”, inclusivity, and skill-acquisition metrics demanded by the call, translating shop-floor ergonomics into broader ESG reporting markers within modern value chains.
🏫 Cross-Cultural Living Lab Deployments: Bridging European manufacturing technology with international settings by analyzing how machine interfaces adapt to workforce networks across different regions, ensuring industrial scaling translates to local structural resilience.
We are actively seeking to connect with:
- 🇪🇺 EU-Based Consortium Leads: Project coordinators looking to integrate explicit socio-technical frameworks,
Digital Humanismprinciples, or RegTech auditing mechanisms into their advanced manufacturing proposals. - 🏭 Industrial & Technology Partners: Automation vendors, XR developers, and manufacturing facilities eager to deploy co-learning AI pilots across diverse operational environments.
